Hardhat Professional Zintle Dayeni tells us about her journey to register as a Professional Quantity Surveyor (PrQS).

I have always viewed Professional registration as a tool that gives credibility to clients and other professional team members. It also boosts self confidence and validates the knowledge acquired through your contribution throughout project involvement.

I embarked on the journey knowing that obtaining all of this would affect my career growth positively as I become exposed to ample opportunities to such an extent that there will be minimal limitations in terms of career trajectory.

The journey has proved me right so far because since my registration my career has been impacted in a positive way. I am now able to run projects independently, there are a lot of career prospects that I can now pursue .

This is a journey I recommend to all Hardhat Professionals because it is a fulfilling journey that is empowering in terms of self-confidence. It also boosts credibility with clients because your competency is verified and accountability is assured because your name is now associated with your industry’s governing body.

Zintle Dayeni is a Professional Quantity Surveyor (PrQS) who is employed by the Department of Public Works and has been seconded to KDM Quantity Surveyors and NNAQS to gain experience and exposure in different stages of the project life cycle as required by the SACQSP. She has been exposed to a vast number of projects, using different forms of Contracts, from Offices, Luxurious Houses and Laboratories.
