Please give us a brief summary about your career 

I am the Head of the Construction Project Management Unit (Cluster Head) in the Public Sector, with more than 12 Years of experience in both Private and Public Sector as a Project Management specialist. I am the holder of Project Management Professional (PMP) with PMI. I am also registered as Professional Construction Project Manager with SACPCMP, Full Member with PMSA, and Associate Member with ACPM. I hold a Masters Degree in Project Management and currently doing Property Studies with Wits.

How does one get hold of the book?

The book is available from all book stores / shops and also most available at Tertiary Institutions.

What did you like about the book?

Rory Burke, he simplifies the complexity of project management in this book

How did reading the book change your career? 

When I was studying towards my first Degree, I always wanted to be a Site Manager or Construction Manager and I was doing very well on that subject until I decided to study a Project Management Degree and that is when I came across this book, since then it changed my career.

What is the biggest lesson you learnt from the book? 

The book has taught me  that as a Project Manager, you need to always understand the scope of the project you are managing, then break it down to make it even better and be able to manage it going forward towards the completion of the project.

What do you think the author’s purpose was with the book? Was it achieved? 

The purpose was / is to coach young project managers to understand the complexity of managing different projects and focusing on the most important parts which are time, cost and quality. All of these are well explained with practical examples in that book and you can always use those examples into your real world projects.
