According to Natale Labia, a partner and chief economist at a global investment firm, investors are factoring in a return to steady, if unimpressive, economic growth. There is a strong possibility, perhaps even likelihood, that this could be the year that marks a turning point for the South African economy, initiating a slow but steady growth trajectory from a low base. In essence, given the series of crises South Africa has endured over the past five years, the economic situation cannot deteriorate much further.
